Welcome to the official website of the Greater Carlyle USBC Bowling
Association (GCBA). The GCBA was founded for the purpose of uniting in
a central organization and all qualified members of bowling leagues
bowling in certified establishments located in the following cities in
the State of Illinois: Bartelso, Breese, Trenton, New Baden,
Mascoutah, Highland, Grantfork, Greenville, Vandalia, and Salem.

GREATER CARLYLE ANNUAL MEETING
The
2023 GREATER CARLYLE Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 30,
2023 at 1:00 PM at Vandalia Bowl. OPEN & WOMEN'S Tournament
checks will be available at this meeting. This is the time to
voice your opinion about anything regarding the Greater Carlyle Bowling
Association.
The new GREATER CARLYLE BOWLING ASSOCIATION
As
of August 1, 2018 the Greater Carlyle Bowling Association will
provide services for its men, women, and youth bowlers. In
addition to an awards program for all bowlers, the GCBA will offer
numerous tournaments for all of its members. We will offer a
Scratch Tournament and an Open Handicap Tournament for all our members
as well as a Senior Scratch Tournament for all of our members over the
age of 50. In addition, our female bowlers will also have their
own tournament. Our Youth Bowlers will have their own
tournament as well. Our new Association Number is 86694
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY FOR TOURNAMENTS:
In the case of inclement weather, bowling may be
rescheduled based on a case by case scenario. If the bowling
center does not open due to inclement weather, bowling will be
rescheduled. You will be contacted if the bowling center does not
open. If the bowling center does open during inclement weather,
but you feel it is not safe for you to travel, rescheduling will be
permitted upon request by calling Tim Rutz. My number is

GCBA OPEN & WOMEN'S TOURNAMENTS
The
2022 GCBA OPEN & WOMEN'S Tournaments was held at Mascoutah
Lanes (team event) and Hi Top Bowl in Highland (singles &
doubles).
Tournament checks have been mailed.

2020-21 NATIONAL AWARDS
Molly
Marshall & Lori Whitmore bowled single game score of 566 during the
2021 GCBA WOMEN'S Doubles Tournament. Their 566 single game was
the HIGHEST female two person single game bowled in the United
States for the 2020-21 season.
The Driscoll Brick Tea bowled a 3755 five man team series during the
2021 GCBA OPEN Team Tournament. Their 3755 scratch series is the
Second Highest five man team series bowled during the 2020-21
season. Team
members are: Keith Langenhorst, Nick Korte, Scott Clark, Clayton Wilke,
and Kirt Ervin.
2022 ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL STATE CHAMP
Congratulation MADISON FERGUSON
from Vandalia for winning the 2022 Illinois High School Association Girls Individual
State Championship. Madison averaged 236 for 12 games during the
2022 IHSA State Tournament at Cherry Bowl in Rockford, IL
GCBA YOUTH TOURNAMENT
Thank you 4th Street Lanes
for hosting the 2022 GCBA Youth
Tournament. Seventy-five youth bowlers participated in the
tournament. You can find the UNOFFICIAL standings at the link

JOHN BAUER won the GCBA Senior Scratch Classic on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Baden Bowl.

GCBA SCHOLARHIP
Congratulations to TIFFANY HEDIGER and CARISSA MERKLE,
both from Highland High School, for winning the 2022 GCBA
Scholarship. Tiffany and Carissa each a $500 scholarship for
their accomplishments.
2022 GCBA HALL OF FAME/AWARDS BANQUET
The
Greater Carlyle Bowling Association
Hall of Fame/Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022
at Michaels Restaurant in Highland. The 2022 GCBA Hall of Fame
inductees will be announce later this Summer. Tournament winners
and Honor Score Bowlers will received their invitation to the banquet
in the middle of September.
